==Welcome== Hello UVnet and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you've chosen to join us. This is a great project with lots of dedicated people, which might seem intimidating at times, but don't let anything discourage you. Be bold!, explore, and contribute. If you want to learn more,
Wikipedia:Bootcamp teaches you the basics quickly,
Wikipedia:Tutorial is more in-depth, and
Wikipedia:Topical index is exhaustive.

Five Pillars of Wikipedia
Float around for awhile until you find something that tickles your fancy. One easy way to do this is to hit the random page button in the navigation bar to the left. There are also many great committees and groups that focus on particular jobs. My personal favorite stomping grounds are Wikipedia:Translation into English and Wikipedia:Cleanup for sloppy articles. Finally, the Wikimedia Foundation has several other wiki projects that you might enjoy.
There are a few crucial points to keep in mind when editing. Be civil with users, strive to maintain a neutral point of view, verify your information, and show good etiquette like signing your comments with four tildes like this: ~~~~ If you have any more questions, always feel free to ask me anything on my talk page or ask the true experts at Wikipedia:Help desk. Again, welcome! -- Draeco 07:44, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Test warning
Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. - You blanked a lot of content on Deus Ex characters, with no explanation. I reverted the edit[1]. It looked like vandalism. I don't know anything about Deus Ex and haven't edited this article though, so if it's a good faith edit, revert it back with a good reason. Additionally, you should sign comments on talk pages with ~~~~. --Phroziac . o º O (♥♥♥♥ chocolate!) 14:58, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

For implementing the Deus Ex Navagation section and making minor touch ups on the main article. I, Dynamo_ace award you the Tireless Contribuator Barnstar. |
Some advice though, please make sure you use edit summurys and that they are detailed, that way users may know why such removals may occur without going to the first obvious answer, vandlism. -Dynamo_ace Talk
[edit] Image Tagging Image:Tim-burton.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Tim-burton.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. -- Carnildo 11:03, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

The image IS tagged FAIR USE. and there is even a rational and pages it is used in. --UVnet 22:32, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

- Because that means that yet another person has to do all the work in finding an appropriate tag and source. Most, if not all, fair use tags require a description and source. It is the responsibility of the uploader to provide these. This is made clear during the upload process. If the uploader fails to provide the relevant information, then it will be deleted. Hello! Thank you for participating in the Star Wars Wikiproject. The participants section has recently been changed so it would be appreciated that you put the template {{User Star Wars WikiProject}} onto your Userpage so that you appear in Category:WikiProject Star Wars members. I only put that because I had to change it quikly since the old image was violating Wikipedia image use policy. In addition there isn't many images we have that we can use. Thanks for uploading Image:Jock(deus ex character).jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. You do have a large number of image warnings on your talk page, with no easily visible responses to them; that was why I mentioned blocking. In any case, good work, thanks, and it is appreciated.
