Uspallata Pass
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Uspallata Pass or Bermejo Pass is an old route across the Chilean Andes between Mendoza, Argentina and Santiago de Chile. It reaches 3,810 m (12,500 ft) above sea level.
The pass was used before the Trans-Andean Railway (1910–1982). Today, the Pan-American Highway runs through the near-by Cristo Redentor Tunnel. The statue Christ of the Andes is located at the pass.
