"Used to Love Her" is a song by American hard rock band Guns N' Roses. Its lyrics are about a man murdering a woman and burying her in his backyard. Axl then goes on to say that they are "happier this way."
This song was not a hit song on the charts, but today receives substantial radio play.
Lead singer Axl Rose has said its nothing more than a joke song not to be taken seriously. In fact, on the cover of the LP, the blurb under the headline "Used To Love Her" says that it's "a joke, nothing more. Actually it's pretty self-explanatory if you ask me!" Like many Guns N' Roses tracks, both the music and lyrics are written by rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin.
Some fans of the band think that the song is about lead guitarist Slash's dog.
Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine covered this song as a Lounge style version on his 2002 album "Tuxicity".
