Uschi Schreiber

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Uschi Schreiber replaced Steve Buckland as the Director-General of Queensland Health on 27 July 2005 and was appointed for a period of up to fifteen months, along with two new Deputy Directors-Generals. Ms Schreiber was formerly Deputy Director-General in the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

The Premier of Queensland made the direct appointment of Schreiber to lead the development and implementation of the Government’s response to the recommendations from the Morris / Davies Inquiries and the Forster Inquiry.

On taking over Queensland Health, Schreiber removed Dr John Scott from the role of General Manager Health Services and he later resigned. Scott had fallen from grace when he allegedly contradicted former Health Minister Gordon Nuttall at a budget estimates hearing on July 8 2005.
