USCGC Gallatin (WHEC-721) is a U. S. Coast Guard high endurance cutter based out of Charleston, South Carolina. Built at Avondale Shipyards near New Orleans, Louisiana, Gallatin was named for Albert Gallatin, the fourth and longest serving United States Secretary of the Treasury.
[edit] Misc Trivia
A 378' cutter in the video game Jaws Unleashed (PS2, XBOX), bears the hull number "721". It appears in the sixth mission of the game entitled "Angry Armada" as a boss "character" that the player must defeat before progressing in the game. While the ship does not actually bear the name Gallatin on the hull, it's a little more than a coincidence.
