US 50 Association

The US 50 Association is an association of Counties in Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia dedicated to the improvement of US 50 between Winchester, Virginia and Clarksburg, West Virginia.

The Association was started by Wayne C. Spiggle in 2003. The association meets on the third Wednesday of each odd-numbered month at various locations rotating throughout the counties along the route.

Federal Funding Committee met in Washington with Representative Shelley Moore Capito, Robert C. Byrd and Jay Rockefeller to request funding of specific projects on US 50 to improve traffic flow and safety.

The US 50 Association proposed a new standard of 2-lane highway to be built as a continuation of the Appalachian Development Highway System. Dubbed The Super-2 the idea is to fill in gaps between the 4-lane system which is currently nearing completion.
