[edit] Oxford Cavaliers (Rugby)

The link is not relevant because it is not an article about the rugby union team. The external links should be relevant to the subject matter of the page.

This is not a league versus union point. I have similarly deleted a link to the All Blacks that was on the Munster rugby page.

I suggest either a) start a Oxford RU page and link it to the league page (the external link) should go on the union page or b) if the external link really must go in the article then it should do so as link within the text i.e. something like this [http:www.OxfordRU.co.uk Oxford RU].

On a lighter note welcome to the Wiki Rugby Union project.GordyB 09:48, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Winers100.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Winers100.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:11, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sport in London

I agree that 'strong presence' is an exaggeration but there are considerably more than five teams in London, even South London Storm have four feeder clubs. There is in fact a London league as well. I think it is fair to say that amateur rugby league has a strong presence in London, I'm editing the page.GordyB 10:49, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Personal attacks

Regarding your comments here [1]: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. --ZimZalaBim (talk) 15:16, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

And again here [2]. And if you read your messages above, you'll realize that the images were properly deleted according to policy since the images you uploaded didn't have proper copyright tags. --ZimZalaBim (talk) 15:27, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Grow up, kid.

Your image questions have already been answered by ZimZalaBim. In response to your question about the club itself, I do not claim to be an expert on the subject, and if you'll read the "prod" tag, you'll notice that you can remove it at any time. --Fang Aili talk 17:31, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

And continuing to call me an idiot and a vandal [3] will not accomplish anything. Please read the policy pages provided already. --Fang Aili talk 17:33, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
It simply does not look notable to me. Granted I do not know much about rugby unions, but from the Rugby union article it seems these clubs are amature organizations, which are not usually notable according to Wikipedia's standards. This is why we have prods--so that if I prod it but am wrong about its notability, someone else can come by and remove it with no conflict. Again, if you disagree, just remove it and put your reasoning in the edit summary. --Fang Aili talk 19:16, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
You are making a really big deal out of this. Just remove the prod and move on. I am not on any sort of crusade to delete this article. --Fang Aili talk 19:31, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Harlow Rugby Club

I've looked into it. IMO Harlow are as notable as many other articles on Wikipedia. If Rugby league in Kenya is worth a page despite even the author thinking its creation a mistake then this is too. Fang Aili's edits are good faith but perhaps he could have explained them better.

There is an issue with the copyright of the images that is why they were deleted. If you own the copyright then you need to state so on the image, if you don't then the owner must give permission for their use. Other than that I believe that the article merely needs a tidy-up, the style of its writing contributes to the idea that this is merely free advertising.GordyB 19:24, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

I have restyled the article and removed the deletion tag. All you need to do is upload your images again and add a note to them that you are the copyright holder and you give permission to wikipedia to use them.GordyB 22:28, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
