Urmston railway station is in the Trafford metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester in the north west of England. The station, and all services calling there, is operated by Northern Rail.
Services are roughly half-hourly in both directions towards Chassen Road and Liverpool Lime Street to the west and towards Humphrey Park and Manchester Oxford Road in the east. Services are less frequent in the evenings and on Sundays.
The main station building on the Liverpool-bound platform is disused. A new building on the other platform contains a waiting room and ticket office. The station is staffed part-time.
