Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest is the third film in the Children of the Corn series. This time, two orphaned brothers from Gatlin, Nebraska move into the kindly Porter's house in Chicago. Unknown to everyone, the younger orphan is a disciple of He Who Walks Behind Rows, and he sets out to create a new Corn cult.

This was the last film in the series to have a theatrical showing, albeit an extremely brief and limited one. It was released by Dimension in 1995. The film is directed by James D.R. Hickox (brother of b-movie director Anthony Hickox) and features make-up effects by Screaming Mad George. The film stars Daniel Cerny as Eli, an orphan adopted by William Porter (Jim Metzler). Joshua Porter (Ron Melendez), William's son, learns of Eli's secret Bible and uses it to defeat him. There are also early appearances by Nicholas Brendon and Charlize Theron as extras.

[edit] Trivia

-Children of the Corn III appears on IMDB's Bottom 100 Worst Films, seemingly for the reason that the climactic battle at the end features poor effects of dolls standing in for actors. The film has since risen out of the list.

-Eli's bible is actually "Night Shift" by Stephen King with a modified cover.

-The last film in the series to have a theatrical showing. Subsequent entries went directly to video.
