Uranium-234
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
U-234 is an isotope of uranium. It exists in amounts so minute that extraction attempts from natural uranium are all but impossible to achieve. In natural uranium, U-234 makes up only 0.0055% (U-235 makes up 0.7205% and the rest is U-238). It has a half-life of 246,000 years. The current source of U-234 is from the decay of plutonium-238 and is processed by means of ion exchange from the same.
