[edit] Elections

The next elections for Upton Grange will be in 2007, for the City Council, Colin Bain's term is expiring and Mr Bain is not standing. The Lib Dems have already chosen Michael Main (losing 2006 candidate) to stand in his place. This will be Mr. Main's fourth candidacy for City Council, as he lost the 2004 election in Upton Westlea and a by-election in Boughton. The Tories have appointed Hilarie McNae as their new team leader, according to their website.[1]

The next elections in Upton Westlea will be in 2008, when Cllr Pat Lott will be up for re-election.

[edit] 2006

In Upton Grange, David Evans, formerly the Liberal Democrat leader of Chester City Council resigned as leader in March 2006, and did not seek re-election in May. In his place, Michael Main stood, but he was soundly beaten by Jill Houlbrook (Conservative).

Cllr Caroline Mosley was easily re-elected to represent Upton Westlea.
