Unterseeboot 59

Unterseeboot 59 or U-59 has been the name of several German submarines or U-boats during the First World War and the Second World War.

  • Unterseeboot 59 (1916) was built in 1916 and operated in the First Battle of the Atlantic during the First World War before being sunk in 1917.
    • During the First World War, Germany also operated two other U-boats with similar designations:
      • Unterseeboot B-59 was built in 1917 and scuttled in 1918.
      • Unterseeboot C-59 was built in 1917 and surrendered in 1918.
