[edit] Removal of proposed deletion template

I removed the prod. In ten minutes of googling, plenty of articles popped up, and it appears production news is at most 4 months old. However, the citations in there were messy, so I cleaned up some. Since it is in pre-production according to the director, that means it has been greenlit. A greenlit film with current verified production news that is a third installment of a successful series doesn't sound like it could fail either the notability or the crystal-balling guidlines. I organized the article to flow better and removed the clean-up tag as a result. I also removed Beckinsale and Speedman from the Infobox Film template, since it's not confirmed whether either of them would return. I also included the IMDb link, which calls it the "Untitled Underworld Prequel" and has a release date for 2009 (which doesn't seem verifiable). I'm still iffy about the crystal-ball nature of this article -- I can't tell if iFMagazine.com assumed that Underworld 3 was in pre-production since there's no citation of a greenlight (which seems like it would be news-worthy somewhere after the fiscal success of Underworld: Evolution). In addition, there's no director attached or any confirmed casting mentioned, which indicates that this film is at most in the very early stages of pre-production (though the lack of news on a greenlight bothers me). In addition, Wiseman is occupied with directing Live Free or Die Hard, so this doesn't seem to be a project that's going to happen in the immediate future. I'll have to review the crystal ball and notability policies to see how this article stands up to them. --Erik (talk/contrib) @ 17:07, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Blood Enemy

If part 3 is going to be a prequel, and an origin story for Lucian, shouldn't the page at least acknowledge Greg Cox's Blood Enemy novel, which is already exactly that? Do we know if Cox had discussions with Wiseman about the details, or is it all Cox's own take on the myth, and un-canonical? Cardinal Wurzel 21:06, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

As far as I know, there hasn't been any mention about Blood Enemy. While it's likely to be based on a similar universe, I haven't seen any mention about it. We can include the novel if it's mentioned somewhere — there's no hurry to expand the content. --Erik (talk/contrib) @ 21:46, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Similar universe? Cardinal Wurzel 22:11, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I meant a similar fictional universe. From what I read while citing this article a while ago, apparently the director had everything planned out regarding the history of vampires vs. werewolves — past, present, and future. I don't know much about Blood Enemy, honestly, but they're probably based on similar ideas, if not the same ideas. But as far as I could tell, there's no new citation beyond what's in the article that talks about the connection, so we'll have to keep our eyes open for one. --Erik (talk/contrib) @ 23:42, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
