The Unseen Crack (Japanese: 見えない亀裂 - Mienai kiretsu) is episode 108 of the anime series Naruto. The episode's storyline is from the Sasuke Retrieval manga arc. It covers the beginning of the Sasuke retrieval arc and explains why Sasuke felt that he had to leave.

This episode begins with the end of Sasuke and Naruto's fight. Kakashi suddenly appears, grabs both boys' arms, and redirects their jutsus to two nearby water towers. As Naruto is flying in the air, Kakashi is surprised at the jutsu Naruto is using. Upon impact, Naruto has punched a small depression into the tower with a tiny hole in the center. Sasuke's entire forearm is stuck in the tower, which bent all around. Once he pulls out his arm, Sasuke's tower gushes water, while Naruto's only trickles, which pleases Sasuke immensely by comparison to Naruto's tower which is trickling water through a small hole. Kakashi admonishes Sasuke about being childish and misusing the Chidori. Sasuke ignores Kakashi and leaves. Once he flips over the fence, he hears water pouring out and sees that the entire back of Naruto's tower has been blown out. Sasuke is angered once again by a reminder of how much more powerful Naruto has become.
Kakashi criticizes Jiraiya (who has appeared suddenly and without fanfare) for teaching Naruto the Rasengan jutsu, but Jiraiya responds in kind, regarding Sasuke and Chidori. Kakashi explains the dynamic between the two, comparing it to Jiraiya's relationship to Orochimaru. The two ninja masters agree to chastise their respective students, and Kakashi reassures Sakura that everything will be alright.
Jiraiya spots Naruto but can't seem to bring himself to lecture him.
Sasuke is filled with deep feelings of inferiority about Naruto's seemingly more powerful attack, Itachi's return, Naruto's superior performance during the Chunin Exam, and the fight against Gaara. Even with Kakashi's lecture, Sasuke does not forget those feelings.
Meanwhile the Sound Four have found Sasuke and the episode ends
