Unrelated Incidents
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Unrelated Incidents is a poem by Tom Leonard. The poem takes the form of a Glaswegian reading the news autocue like a BBC newsreader.
As a newsreader would normally speak in Received pronunciation, the strong Scottish accent and dialect words makes the poem appear difficult to understand to a reader who is not from that area of United Kingdom.
The poem tackles prejudice based upon the accents with which people speak.
