Hey....well they observed untouchability, from what i know, coz their dads were all bigshot royals....so being kids of nobilty and royalty, they were given a status above remaining nairs...well if u see, almost every caste had untouchability in kerala...kiriyam nairs with illath nairs etc....so to keep untouchability people just needed a reason...and being fathered by kshatriyas, unnithans and others had quite a gud reason too - manu

btw i dont think we need such a lengthy article on this...something like valiathan will be better...as in conveys all the required details..im changing the page...incase of a problem for anyone, kindly publish here - manu
