Unknown Hinson is a renowned musical talent who claims he is "The king of Country Western Troubadors!" and "I'm ever womern's dream and ever jealous husband's nightmare, and I don't take no mess". The Unknown Hinson is a hell-raisin’, hard-drinkin’ country and western singer who is also purported to be a 400-year old hillbilly vampire. Partial to "party liquor" and fine guitars, Hinson knows how to have a good time.

Unknown Hinson was an only child, named after his daddy (“says right there on my birth certificate - Mama: Miss Hinson. Daddy: Unknown.”), raised by his mother who gave him his first guitar. After his mother’s mysterious disappearance, he ran off and joined the circus as part of the sideshow, where he learned how to lift 50-pound weights with his tongue, among various other talents.

Hinson was later arrested on various trumped-up charges, including three counts of murder, 19 paternity suits, vampirism and random grave-robbing offenses. Falsely imprisoned for 30 years, he was released in 1993 to reclaim his long-denied musical legacy.

The Unknown Hinson first appeared on the public-access TV-show The Unknown Hinson Show which was a combination of politically-incorrect sketches and concert footage that has won Creative Loafing's "Best of" poll for Best Public-Access Television Show four years running. He himself has been voted Best Local Television Personality by the readers of that same publication numerous times.

Unknown Hinson can count Billy Bob Thornton, and Matt Groening among his fans. Hank III has Unknown's face tatooed on his bicep.

Hinson also provides the voice of Early Cuyler, a balding hillbilly squid from Georgia, on Cartoon Network's late night Adult Swim program called the Squidbillies.
