The University of Seoul is a public university operated by the municipal government of Seoul, South Korea. The campus stands in Jeonnong-dong, Dongdaemun-gu. It traces its origins to 1918, when it was founded under Japanese rule as the Keijo Public School of Agriculture. It became a four-year college in 1956, and a university in 1981.

Due to its analogous name, the university is often confused with Seoul National University, which is completely different university located in southern Seoul.
