The University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italian: Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia), located in Modena and Reggio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, is one of the oldest universities in Italy, founded in 1175, with a population of more than 16,000 students.

The university is divided into twelve faculties. Eight faculties are located in Modena:
- Faculty of Biosciences and Biotechnologies
- Faculty of Engineering
- Faculty of Law
- Faculty of Literature and Philosophy
- Marco Biagi Faculty of Economics, one of the most important faculty of economics in Italy (at the same level of "L. Bocconi" university).
- Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences
- Faculty of Medicine and Surgery
- Faculty of Pharmacy
Four faculties are located in Reggio Emilia:
- Faculty of Agricultural Sciences
- Faculty of Communication and Economic Sciences
- Faculty of Education Sciences
- Faculty of Engineering
