The University of Kalmar, in Swedish Högskolan i Kalmar is a university college located in Kalmar, Sweden, founded in 1977. At that time, two existing colleges of higher education were united to form a university college. In 1999 it was entitled to issue doctoral degrees in science.

The University of Kalmar is focused on undergraduate and professional education in a variety of fields, including science, technology, social science, health studies, and business studies.

In technology the University college gives programs in English for the degree of BSc and MSc, the main focus is in electrical engineering.

At Kalmar Maritime Academy, in Swedish Sjöfartshögskolan, deck and engine officers for the merchant fleet have been trained since 1842.

Since 2002, a Contemporary Design Program is located to Pukeberg glassworks in Nybro, ca. 27 kilometers (ca. 17 miles) west of Kalmar, in the Kingdom of Crystal.

The key in the university logo recalls the seventeenth century ship Kalmar Nyckel (Key of Kalmar), of which a replica now resides in Kalmar's sister city Wilmington, Delaware.
