University of California Natural Reserve System

The University of California Natural Reserve System (UC NRS) is the largest and most diverse system of university-administered reserves in the world. The University of California NRS manages 35 wildland sites, which encompass about 130,000 acres and include examples of most of California's ecosystems. The reserve system is used for teaching, research, and public service.
