University Players

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The University Players was a summer stock theater company formed in 1928 by Joshua Logan and Bretaigne Windust. Several of its members went on to achieve great fame in the theater and film industry, including Logan, Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda, and Margaret Sullavan.

"In 1931 the Players went on tour and although the experiences were good the venture was a financial disaster. With the end of the University Players [Logan] went to New York City working on two jobs on a Broadway production."[1]
