On 13 September 2003, Sedaya International College was awarded the University College status by the Ministry of Education and became known as University College Sedaya International (UCSI). This is a landmark achievement for an institution of higher learning that made its mark as a provider of higher education in Malaysia.
UCSI is amongst the few Malaysian private university to offer a wide spectrum of academic studies ranging from Engineering to Information Technology and Business, Applied Sciences to Pharmacy and Medicine, Social Science to Music.
Today, UCSI offers its university honours degrees in the above disciplines, and upon completion of these degrees students may transfer to an internationally recognised university for postgraduate studies. UCSI degrees can also allow student transfers to other foreign universities for completion of the undergraduate degree.
Also renowned for its cosmopolitan and unique international culture, UCSI comprises both local and international students from China, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Pakistan, Kenya, Congo, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Mauritius and Uzbekistan. With this setting, a student can expect to not only gain academic knowledge, but also be exposed to cross-cultural communication skills to enhance their future career pathways locally or internationally.

[edit] History
UCSI is poised, from the very onset of its inception since 1986 to provide the widest choice of education options in the country with the greatest spectrum of financial flexibility, ranging from certificates, diplomas, and full degree programmes leading to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
What was formerly the Canadian Institute of Computer Studies, a computer-based training centre located in Petaling Jaya, UCSI has evolved from its previous identity as Sedaya College, when it was accorded the College status in 1990, and subsequently its international college status in 2002, reflecting its increasing international focus.
UCSI state-of-the-art Connaught Campus worth RM80 million, was completed in May 2004. The purpose-built campus - moulded and modelled after some of the world’s best institutions, offers a stimulating, exciting and conducive learning environment preparing students to be competent and ever ready to take their rightful places in the ‘real’ world. Apart from that, the main campus will also provide an assortment and array of facilities for recreation and relaxation, meeting the students’ every need without them ever needing to leave the campus.
