Universidad del Valle (Colombia)

The Universidad del Valle is the largest higher education institution in the southwest of Colombia. Univalle, as it is commonly known, has two main campuses in Cali, several regional branches across the state, and one in the neighboring state of Cauca: Palmira, Buga, Caicedonia, Buenaventura, Yumbo, Tulua, Zarzal, Cartago and Santander de Quilichao (Cauca).
The main campus located in Melendez, south of Cali, hosts the majority of Schools with a wide variety of graduate and undergraduate programs in Engineering, Humanities, Sciences, Integrated Arts and Social and Economic Sciences. It's second Cali campus, San Fernando, is host to the Schools of Health and Business Administration. The school of medicine has a well earned national and international reputation. Univalle also has a radio station, Univalle Estereo, a university TV channel and a cultural newspaper, La Palabra.
The "Universidad del Valle" is a state-funded public university founded in 1945.
From 1960 to 1978, the Rockefeller Foundation maintained a Cali field office and was instrumental in providing support to make the university one of the premier schools in South America.
