United States presidential election, 2004, in Vermont

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Vermont is the home state of U.S. presidential candidate and anti-war advocate Howard Dean, its former governor. It was also the only state in the U.S. to elect a socialist representative (Bernie Sanders). The majority of Vermonters voted for the Democratic candidate Senator John F. Kerry, winning by about 20 percentage points; only small, northeastern Essex County preferred the Republican candidate, George W. Bush (by a fairly slim margin).

The voter turnout was higher than in the 2000 presidential election.
