United States presidential election, 2004, in Michigan

This article describes the United States presidential election, 2004, in Michigan.

A blue-collar Great Lakes state with an important Catholic population, Michigan went to Al Gore in 2000. As a consequence, it was considered as a possible target for Republicans this year, who campagned heavily in the state. However, the state went to democratic challenger John F. Kerry, with a margin of victory of 3%.
