United States Strike Command

In 1961 the United States Strike Command (STRICOM) was established at MacDill AFB as a unified command with integrated personnel from all branches of the military capable of responding to global crisis. STRICOM was redesignated US Readiness Command in 1972. [1]
Combined the elements of the Army's Strategic Army Corps(STRAC) and the Air force's Composite Air Strike Force(CASF). The Navy and Marine Corps successfully avoided involvement.
