The United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA), is the national governing body for Olympic skiing and snowboarding in the United States. Founded in 1905, the USSA coordinates a nationwide program in six different Olympic sports — alpine, cross country, freestyle, ski jumping, nordic combined, and snowboarding, plus the Paralympic sports of disabled alpine and cross country. The USSA absorbed the United States Ski Team in 1988, adding snowboarding in 1989.
