United States House elections, 1992

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The U.S. House election, 1992 was an election for the United States House of Representatives in 1992 which coincided with the election of Bill Clinton as President. In spite of Clinton's defeat of incumbent George H. W. Bush, his Democratic Party actually lost a net of nine seats in the House to the Republican Party.

The Democrats nonetheless retained a majority in the House and Senate, and with a new Democratic President, they seemed to be in a position of great strength. However, this would change in the 1994 election.
