The United States District Court for the District of Kansas is the Federal district court whose jurisdiction is comprised of the state of Kansas.
The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Kansas represents the United States in civil and criminal litigation in the court. The first United States Attorney for the District of Kansas was appointed June 29, 1854 by Franklin Pierce. The current attorney is Eric F. Melgren
