The United States District Court for the District of Alabama is an extinct federal district court which was subdivided into the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama in 1824.

(The U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama was subsequently formed from parts of these two districts in 1839.) The court was created in 1820 by 3 Stat. 564.
