United States Army Forces in the British Isles
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
United States Army Forces in the British Isles (USAFBI) was a command responsible for all United States Army units stationed in the British Isles during World War II. The command developed from the Special Observers group (SBOPS) sent to Britain before the USA entered the war to study British use of Lend Lease supplies. The command eventually became European Theater of Operations (ETOUSA), and at the conclusion of the war in Europe in 1945, was renamed United States Forces, European Theater.
