Union Territory of Goa, Daman, and Diu
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Union Territory of Goa, Daman, and Diu was the name given to the region on the west coast of India, after the end of Portuguese rule there in 1961. It was administrated by New Delhi (as with other "Union Territories" in India) and was comprised of the 3700-square kilometre region of Goa and the overland territories of Daman and Diu. Goa was split off from the union territory on May 30, 1987 and made the 25th state of the Indian union.
