Union Solidarity and Development Association

The Union Solidarity and Development Association (Burmese: ပ္ရည္ထောင္စုက္ရံ့ခုိင္ရေးန္ဟင့္ဖ္ဝံ့ဖ္ရုိးရေးအသင္း; MLCTS: prany htaung cu kri. re: hnang. hpwam. hprui: ye: a. sang:; abbreviated USDA) is an organisation formed by State Law and Order Restoration Council (SLORC) on 13 September 1993. USDA is affiliated to the military junta, and serves to rally support for the current rulers of Myanmar. Its headquarters are in Yangon, Myanmar, and operates nation-wide. The motto of the organisation is "Morale, Discipline, Solidarity, Unity".
Its three national causes are:
- Non-disintegration of the Union
- Non-disintegration of national solidarity
- Perpetuation of sovereignty
It has also been criticised by many, as it has been known to harass pro-democracy activists.
