Union College Cycling ("UCC") is an organization to provide recreational and competitive opportunities for students, faculty and alumni of Union College in Schenectady, New York to enjoy cycling. The organization provides a forum where people can come together to ride in both recreational and competitive settings. The primary goal of UCC is to promote health, well being, fun and fulfilling activities for its members and the community as a whole. UCC facilitates many activities throughout the year. During the fall, mountain biking reigns supreme as races are held throughout the northeast in the fall race series hosted by the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (ECCC). Also, faculty, staff and students ride recreationally throughout the region. During the fall, road rides throughout the region are held several times a week, open to anyone in and beyond the Union College community. During the late winter and spring, UCC will race in the ECCC road series races held throughout the northeast. This would be highly competitive cycling, with training rides held daily in Schenectady and the surrounding areas. Of course, as an alternative to the competitive program, recreational mountain and road rides will occur for anyone else.
