[edit] Unclear difference between Unity and Savannah
I will try to get an expert on this article to define the difference between the Unity and the Savannah.--Churchill 11:31, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Savannah can be made frontside! I don't see how you can't? It is possible I assure you.
- Hey, well can you give the right decription of a Savannah in this talk page, and I will try and word it better on the article? --Churchill 12:18, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Hi again (made this accound). sorry, but i dont understand exactly what you mean with CCW and that, i'm not great with english. I'll try to explain with my own words. A regular unity would be done aproaching the curb/rail etc in the same way as doing a fs royale. Unlike royale, you put the foot, being "at the front" to your grinding direction meaning the foot doing a fs "wonder grind", behind the last foot, with the leg behind the other leg (doing a fs backslide). When doing a Savannah, you do the same but the leg is in front of you. Doing a front side savannah is close to doing a alley oop pornstar, and is more difficult than doing a unity grind. You turn your body in a different and more uncomfortable way (you face the opposite direction you're going). Both unity and savannah can be done combined with back side, true spin (270 then, not 180) and alley oop variations (but this is more comlicated to explain and i get confused easily). I know there's several different names for grinds, but these are the grinds i've been taught that have the names savannah and unity. --Grinder0-0 18:35, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, I think i've got the front savannah description sorted. When it says spin 'CCW' it means spin 'counter clock wise' or 'anti clockwise', or some people might describe it as spinning - looking over your left shoulder. Personally I think that it is much clearer to describe the grinds using CW and CCW. CW just means to spin Clockwise. --Churchill 12:56, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Ok, get it now, i was confused about the term.. But still the description of "Backside Savannah" is wrong: You approach the object with it on your left hand side, you jump to land in the grind, and spin CCW. You spin 270 degrees CCW and land with your legs crossed like a Unity. Is in fact the description for a alley oop backside savannah. Doing a regular bs savannah would be in the same style as doing a truespin acid (but with the makio foot doing a bs backslide). --Grinder0-0 13:41, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, OK i understand now, you've made it much clearer, i've corrected the description of the back savannah. thanks for your help--Churchill 13:05, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
