[edit] Battle of Serenity Valley

"What Mal hoped to be the sound of the Independent air support was in fact that of the Alliance cruisers landing. Even though the shooting stopped, the battle was not over. For a week, while the Alliance and Independents sorted out the surrender, Browncoat and Purplebelly alike were left hungry, bloody and dying on field of battle."

  • Odd, I thought that what Mal observed was the Independent forces retreating. That would be more consistent with the follow-on sentences, which indicate it was some time before anyone came to collect the combattants who were left behind.--65.91.82.62 23:53, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
On page 9 of the RPG manual, it states that Reynolds and Zoe were part of the 57th Overlanders. L Hamm 15:41, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

On an unrelated note, but pertaining to the Battle of Serenity, I just watched the deleted scene wherein Zoe describes the battle to Simon, and she says that Mal was in command of 2,000 soldiers, not 5,000. Atinoda 03:36, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Could an image be added in order to illustrate the battle better? DrWho42 03:00, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merger

Essentially the same reason as over on Ballad of Jayne Cobb and List of Firefly planets and moons. -b 03:18, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

  • Yes, I agree. Although the Battle itself is remarkable and pivotal to the series, a separate page is not really necessary. Doktor Waterhouse
Yeah, they should be merge. It should go as a header under a subheader called somethings like "Notable Battles", and other battles (like the one mentioned in the comic) can be added. JQF 21:53, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
  • Merge --SirNuke 07:53, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Independent Faction

I propose that the article on the independent faction be merged here, since it's unlikely to get out of stub status, and fits in quite nicely with this article. The Wookieepedian 04:11, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

Well, since there has been no discussion, I've merged the article here. The Wookieepedian 02:08, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Helmets?

Shouldn't there be some mention of the helmets each side wore, and their resemblence to the WWII helmsts from the Americans and the Germans? --Briguyd 06:40, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Battle of Sturges

Concerning the Battle of Sturges, the supposed location and the "fact" that the battle was fought over a hoard of money was revealed to the crew by Badger in the "Those Left Behind" comic series. Badger was attempting to lure Reynolds into a trap engineered by ex-agent Dobson and the Blue Hand pair. It may well be that both the location and motivation of the battle were false.

[edit] Speculation & Unknowns

The article currently contains big chunks of guesswork (Some "probably"s and "presumably"s and "maybe"s and "may have"s), as well as many needless and redundant statements about what we *don't* know. Unfortunately I don't have enough knowledge of the details to do a decent editing job, but I thought I'd flag it up as something to watch.--Nalvage 21:09, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
