The Stryker is a family of eight-wheeled all wheel drive (AWD) armored combat vehicles (ACVs) in current use by the US Army. It is the first new military vehicle to enter service in the US military since the M2 Bradley in the 1980s. The Stryker is based on the Canadian LAV III light-armored vehicle, which in turn is based on the Mowag Piranha.
