Description	Arms of the University of the West of England (204x250 px, 20,731 bytes) The shield is adapted from that of the College of St Matthias The supporters are a unicorn (from the arms of the City of Bristol) and a sea stag (from the arms of the former County of Avon) The crest is a flaming firebasket, or cresset, perched on a ship's mainmast and rigging The apple trees are from the coat of arms of the Council for National Academic Awards (a fuller explanation is on the source website)
