The Population Activities Unit (PAU) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) is dealing with population-related issues in the Member States of the UNECE. The two main activities of the unit are

a) assisting the member states in the implementation, monitoring and follow-up to the 2002 UNECE Ministerial Conference on Ageing

b) the gender and generations programme.
