Uncle John Turner was a drummer who most notably played drums in Johnny Winter's band from 1968 to 1970.
"Uncle John Turner", drummer with Johnny Winter and bassist Tommy Shannon (Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble), played at Woodstock. He formed "Krackerjack" afterwards in Austin, Texas - also with Tommy Shannon. Their guitarists included Stevie Ray, Jesse "Guitar" Taylor (died circa February 2006) and Robin Sylar (died circa December 2005).
"Unc" has been a huge influence on many musicians coming up in the Gulf Coast and Austin area. He is one of a very small handful of drummers who CREATED the blues-rock style.
