Talk:Uncle Henry (commentator)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Totally disputed
This article reads like a promotional pamphlet and makes impressive claims with no sourcing whatsoever. ""The Uncle Henry Show" is now considered to be the highest-rated radio show of its genre in Mobile radio history." ... "...remains as popular as ever.". This article needs massive trimming (if it is even notable at all) -- no need for such depth about a barely-notable local E-list fictional character. /Blaxthos 07:12, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
- This article's importance is not worth disputing just because some people outside the subject's area of residence don't agree with it. Everything about the article has been researched by me and I assure you that many people appreciate its existence. /Mario500 11:52, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

- Please don't try to comment on other editors' motives.
- Please don't assume where other editors live (or anything other than good faith)
- Please don't remove dispute tags just because you don't agree with them.
- Please read the dispute discussion/template -- the "importance" wasn't tagged (see #5).
- This article is in violation of several wikipedia policies, including WP:NPOV and WP:ATT -- probably also a good idea to read what constitutes a reliable source.
- Tag has been re-applied. I still question the notability, however I'm holding off on deletion proposal for now. /Blaxthos 15:56, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

I read the tag in the past and I'm sure of the article's neutrality. This line brought "importance" to my mind: "This article needs massive trimming (if it is even notable at all)." /Mario500 13:09, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sure you are sure of the article's neutrality (because you wrote it), however another editor (myself) has expressed that the article does not read from a neutral point of view and explained (generally) why -- a neutral article doesn't include phrases like "...remains as popular as ever." The tag says nothing about the importance -- my comment speaks to it en passant, but that isn't the basis for the tag (and shouldn't be the reason to remove it unilaterally). ""The Uncle Henry Show" is now considered to be the highest-rated radio show of its genre in Mobile radio history." (who considers this to be true? Statements that make such broad claims must be WP:ATTributable to reliable sources). Again, I dispute the factual accuracy and the point of view of this article. /Blaxthos 16:22, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
Both of those quotations from the article have been removed, including the latter one that was not originally written by me (it was written by someone associated with the subject, but I left it in since the subject's popularity is based on local radio ratings and listeners). /Mario500 13:35, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
