Una is one of the districts of Himachal Pradesh, India, and shares its border with the Hoshiarpur District of Punjab. The terrain is plain with small hills. Una has been identified as a main industrial hub. Over the years, Una has turned into transit town for travelers going to the famous city of Dharamsala or the locations within the Himalayas. Una is home to the "Killa", which is a historical fort and an ancestral home of the descendants of the first guru of the Sikhs, Guru Nanak.

People of Una speak Hindi, Punjabi and Pahari as common languages. On the border areas with Punjab, Punjabi is mostly the spoken language. The dress of folks is Kurta-Pajama for men and Salwar-Kameej for the women.

According to 2001 census, total population of Una is: 447,967. There are 997 females per 1000 males. Literacy rate is at 81.09%. Total area of district is 1549 Sq. Kilometers. There is an excellent village called Amlehar it has babarudranand lord shiva temple, it has tributeries full running of water, it is situated in hill and agricultural land is also there and is fed with water body , it has rich jungle,village is full of all utilities such road,telephone,school,electricity, full literacry record. people live there are jaswal hail from maharaja ranjit singh time.this village was established by three brothers migrated from hoshiarpur mangoal village.it has five freedom fighters one of them is late dafedar kali ram.It is rich in all type of resourses basically man machine money etc. People are very desent lovable.

The people of Una mainly earn their livelihood through Agriculture.

The District of Una has many elementary schools and secondary schools. There are also colleges for graduate/post-graduate courses. Govt. College Una, SVSDPG College, Bhatoli, National College, Amb and DAV college, Daulatpur are main colleges for Bachelor courses.

Una district can be reached by a variety of transports from New Delhi. It is located about 375 KM north of New Delhi and 120 KM from Chandigarh. The city of Una is also connected by train from New Delhi. village amlehar has higher secondary school saunkali
