Umán

Umán is a small city and its surrounding municipality of the same name in the state of Yucatán, Mexico, located at 20°89′N, 89°74′W, just southwest of the state capital in Mérida, and is part of the Mérida metropolitan area. As of the census of 2005, the city of Umán had a population of 29,135 people, the seventh-largest community in the state in population. The municipality of which the city serves as municipal seat had a population of 53,268, living on an area of 234.3 km² (90.46 sq mi). Its largest other community is the town of Itzincab.
