Ultrapato

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ultrapato is a fictional character, a 1994 superhero comic created by Mexican cartoonist Edgar Delgado.

Thousands of years ago an ancient extraterrestrial race created two pairs of gloves which would grant the wearers incredible powers, only to eventually lose them on the planet Earth. Young Carlos Bay, an anthropomorphic duck living in the city of Villa Ave, was on the beach one day when he stumbled across one of the pairs. Using the powers he had gained, he decided to become a superhero, adopting the identity of Ultrapato. Now he tries to defend his home from threats such as Ultragallo, in spite of barely knowing how to use the powerful abilities he has gained.

[edit] About the comic

Ultrapato was one of the first of a new wave of Mexican comics, usually published by the creators themselves in low quantities and sold in specialty comic book stores or special events. It became very successful, increasing its print from 1,000 in its original run to 10,000 for the Toukan Manga edition. Many fans regard Ultrapato as the most influential comic of the new Mexican cartoonist generation.
