[edit] Summary
After Xana possesses the principal and kidnaps Odd and Yumi, it gives Jeremie and ultimatum: deliver Aelita to the Scyphozoa or sacrifice his friends.
[edit] Recap
Jeremie is explaining an EMP he cobbled together. It's construction consists of a bunch of batteries connected to a timer. Jeremie says that when activated, it should take out anyone possessed by Xana, as well and any other electronics in the area, through the use of an electromagnetic pulse.
Meanwhile, on Lyoko, Xana activates a tower. The pulsations seem to lead to a dead end.
At Kadic Junior High School, Sissi walks by Aelita, Jeremie and Ulrich and points out that Yumi isn't there. Sissi says that she saw Yumi with William and sarcastically adds that it was stupid of her to forget that. Ulrich confirms her stupidity for her and she walks off. Jeremie's omnipresent laptop picks up the activated tower now. They try to go to the Factory, but are stopped by Jim. He points them in the direction of the classrooms as the principal walks by.
At the classroom building, Odd, William and Yumi are also about to head for their classes. The principal walks up and grabs both Odd and Yumi. When William tries to stop him, the Eye of Xana flashes in The principal's optic pupils, clearly showing that he's been possessed by Xana. The Jean-Pierre tosses William through the doors of the building and drags Odd and Yumi to his car. William doesn't get there in time to stop him. William finds one of the faculty members and relays his experience. Nicolas overhears this and tells the same story to the teacher of the class Aelita, Jeremie and Ulrich are in. As Nicolas tries to convince the teacher, Jeremie gets a message from Xana, demanding that Jeremie trade Aelita for the lives of his friends. Their attempts to contact Odd and Yumi prove futile.
After the faculty is convinced, the municipal police arrive and all classes are canceled. As they bring in Sissi and William for questioning, Sissi notices the gang trying to sneak away and gets the officers to bring them in as well. They try to escape the police, but Aelita and Jeremie are caught. Ulrich escapes through the sewer hatch without being seen.
In a barren walk-in freezer, Jean-Pierre has Odd and Yumi cornered. Odd tries to escape, but gets electrocuted by Jean-Pierre and tossed back. Yumi is freezing so tries to convince Jean-Pierre to move them somewhere warmer. Jean-Pierre just tosses his coat to Odd. This turns out to more than one blessing, as they find their cell phones in the jacket. Yumi calls Ulrich as he arrives at the Factory. She says that Jean-Pierre must be keeping them in the refridgerated warehouses. The call doesn't last much longer than that, though. Jean-Pierre notices and uses his powers to break both phones. Meanwhile, Ulrich finds the EMP bomb and decides to use it on Jean-Pierre.
Back at the school, Aelita and Jeremie are trying to convince Sissi to help them escape. They tell her everything about the Factory. Sissi is skeptical, but agrees to help in order to save her father. When called in for questioning, Sissi implies that her father intends to blow up the school. That convinces the police to start an evacuation of the school. Sissi insists that she's going with Aelita and Jeremie since her father is involved.
Once they reach the factory, Jeremie checks Lyoko and finds the Scyphozoa patiently waiting near the tower. Ulrich calls and says that he plans to use the bomb on Jean-Pierre. When he asks what it will do to the man's body, Jeremie says that, theorhetically, the EMP shouldn't harm him. The deadline runs out as Ulrich is searching through the various warehouse blocks. Odd's scream leads him to the right one. The device takes out Jean-Pierre and Ulrich's cell phone, leaving Aelita, Jeremie and Sissi wondering what's happened. Odd, Ulrich and Yumi head for the Factory and Jean-Pierre wakes up.
In the lab, Sissi knocks out Jeremie with a few well placed hits. We find out that Aelita asked her to do this. She knew that Jeremie would never let her go to Lyoko alone. She has Sissi send her there. When Aelita arrives, three Kankrelats begin to herd her in the direction of the Scyphozoa with laserfire. On the way, they end up at an ice slide. Aelita jumps on in an attempt to escape. The first Kankrelat stops just before it reaches the slide. The other two, unable to slow down, bowl the first over, taking all three on the same ride. Amazingly, they continue to fire at Aelita even though there's no where else to go. A stray shot takes out on of the Kankrelats. At the end of the ride, Aelita is thrown to the ground and slides into a small ice formation some distance away from the slide. The first Kankrelat comes off of the slide at a much greater speed and hits the formation head on, destroying itself in the process. Another lands just in front of Aelita as the Scyphozoa shows up. The third one is neve heard from again.
On the bridge, Jean-Pierre cuts the gang off by running across the river itself. Ulrich distracts him while Odd and Yumi head for the Lab.
Jeremie wakes up, not quite sure of what happened, and is warned about the Scyphozoa by Sissi. Odd and Yumi show up and he sends them to the Scanners. Sissi asks about her father and is told that Ulrich is dealing with him.
On Lyoko, Odd and Yumi head for Aelita on their Vehicles. Yumi opts to fly over the slide and has Odd follow it. Odd does a series of tricks off of the outcropings near the slide and then starts to follow it. Yumi arrives in time to destroy the Kankrelat and ward off the Scyphozoa. Odd arrives to and takes a few pot shots at it. The shots do nothing. Jeremie points them in the direction of the tower.
Back on Earth, Ulrich isn't doing so well against Jean-Pierre. Sissi leaves Jeremie in the Lab and goes to help. She arrives in time to save Ulrich and hits Jean-Pierre with a utility pipe. Ulrich is knocked out just moments later. Sissi tries to scare her father off with some empty threats, but is just tossed aside.
In Lyoko, Aelita, Odd and Yumi arrive at the tower. They can't see it, though. Three Tarantulas arrive to greet them. Some fancy flying by Odd gives him the chance to destroy one of them. As he does, they all notice a cave at the top of the icy outcropping where the tower is supposed to be. They try a head-on approach in order to get through. Odd tries to destroy one of the Tarantulas, but all his shots miss. As the Tarantula fires back, Odd reveals a new ability. He puts his arms up and a purple shield forms to protect him. It doesn't do much good, though, as the Tarantula just aims below it and takes him out of play. With Odd gone, Yumi changes tatics. Giving Aelita control of the Overwing, she jumps for the outcropping while spinning in a circle with both fans out. She spins fast enough that the Tarantulas can't land a hit on her. Once she stops, a fan throw eliminates one. All this provides enough of a distraction for Aelita to enter the cave. The remaining Tarantula blows Yumi away with its head still turned to the cave. Aelita takes yet another slide ride and ends up at the tower. She shuts it off just as Jean-Pierre is about to kill Ulrich.
Back on Earth, Sissi wonders what will happen to her father. Ulrich says she doesn't need to worry because neither she nor anyone else will remember what happened this day. Ulrich points out that he will, though. Since he's going to remember everything, she decides to kiss him. Odd is nearby and has witnessed the whole scene. He's on the phone with Jeremie and wonders if being blind would be better than seeing this. Aelita and Yumi come by and wonder what he's talking about. Jeremie says nothing and activates the return trip.
Back in time, Ulrich says nothing about Sissi's comment about William and Yumi. Jeremie asks if he's still thinking about what happened on the bridge. Yumi comes by and asks about it, but all the guys say it's nothing. Yumi finds their answers suspicious, but Aelita figures it's just guy stuff. Yumi suspicions aren't helped when Ulrich is seen doing the "After you," motion for Sissi. The episode ends on that note.
[edit] Memorable Quotes
- Sissi: What about my father? Is he alright?
- Odd: Couldn't be better. He's outside playing with Ulrich.
- Sissi: My father might be dead by now.
- Jeremie: Or in great shape. Giving Odd and Yumi a piece of his mind.
- Ulrich: Jeremie, that bomb you made… it won't blow away the principal will it?
- Jeremie: Umm… well theoretically speaking, no.
- Aelita: Your father is a po-possessed.
- Sissi: Oh-yeah right. Like in Hospital of Horrors. And he's been taken over by a demonic entity that will make him do unspeakable things, huh?
- Jeremie: Well, basically that's about it.
- Yumi: Where are we?
- Odd: Given the temperature, I would gu-guess somewhere in northern Siberia.
- Jeremie: Why is it whenever you see Sissi you feel like being nasty?
- Ulrich: Maybe because being with someone nasty rubs off on you!
- Sissi: How stupid of me.
- Ulrich: You got that right!
- Odd: Uhh Jeremie we've got a class in 20 minutes, can you give us the Cliffs Notes version?
- Sissi: Wow. I feel like I'm in the middle of a James Bond movie!
- Ulrich: How do people expect us to save the world if they won't leave us alone?
- Sissi: (about her father) What's gonna happen to him now? I mean, with the kidnapping and everything.
- Ulrich: Everything's gonna be alright. No one will remember anything. Neither will you, for that matter.
- Sissi: (small gasp) And you?
- Ulrich: (sighs) I will. For me, it's not the same.
- Sissi: Okay. Then you'll remember this kiss.
- (She kisses Ulrich)
- Odd: You can go ahead, Einstein. I wonder which would be worse… being blind or having to see this!
- Odd: Hey, Xana! Apparently you plan on keeping us alive, or you'd have already blown us away. Uh, in case you didn't know, cold can kill us too. So if I were you, I'd do something about it.
- (Reading X.A.N.A.’s message to Aelita and Ulrich)
- Jeremie: Aelita at 2:00 in the ice sector to give herself up to the Scyphozoa. If not, Odd and Yumi will be liquidated!
- Aelita: Jeremie, you said that the EMP would take out any electronic equipment in the immediate area. Would that include...cell phones?
- Jeremie: (slaps forehead) Yes! I'm such a dork!
