The Ultimate Ultimate 2 (also referred to as "Ultimate Ultimate 1996" and "UFC 11.5") was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on December 7th, 1996. The event took place at the State Fair Arena in Birmingham, Alabama, and was broadcast live on pay-per-view in the United States, and released on home video. The card featured an eight man tournament with two alternate bouts, and was the UFC's second "Ultimate Ultimate" tournament, held to find the best of the winners and runners up from past UFC events.

Hall wins by TKO at 1:45 of round 1.

Nelmark wins by submission (choke) at 1:37 of round 1.

[edit] Quarterfinal Bout: Ken Shamrock vs Brian Johnston
Shamrock wins by submission (Forearm Choke) at 5:48 of round 1. After a short but strenuious battle, Shamrock was unable to continue in the tournament due to fatigue.
[edit] Quarterfinal Bout: Don Frye vs Gary Goodridge
Frye wins by submission (fatigue) at 11:19 of round 1. After taking constant punishment from Frye, Goodridge was taken down, and mounted. Rather than take more punishment, Goodridge tapped out.

Abbott wins by TKO due to strikes at 2:51 of round 1.
[edit] Quarterfinal Bout: Kimo Leopoldo vs Paul Varelans
Kimo wins by TKO due to strikes at 9:08 of round 1. Giving up more than 100 pounds to Varlens, Kimo took constant punishment clinching against the cage, then ultimately under Varelens. At 8:45, Varelans, apparently completely fatigued, rolled off of to the side of Kimo, who reversed and immmediatly begain dropping heavy unanswered shots to Varelans face. John McCarthy was forced to intervene, calling a halt to the bout at 9:08. After the long fight, Kimo and Varelans both had to be helped away from the ring, and ultimately Kimo bowed out of the tournament due to fatigue.

Abbott wins by KO at 1:03 of round 1. Nelmark was an alternate for Ken Shamrock, who could not continue due to fatigue.

Frye wins by submission (Achilles Hold) at 0:20 of round 1. Hall was an alternate for Kimo Leopoldo, who could not continue due to fatigue.

Frye wins Ultimate Ultimate 96 by submission (Rear Naked Choke) at 1:22 of round 1. After taking numerous power shots from Tank, opening a cut, and even dropping Frye to the canvas, Frye was able to take Abbott to the ground after Abbott lost his footing and finally, Frye secured a Rear Naked Choke for a win by Submission.
