Ulrike "Uli" Herzner (born 23 April 1971) is a German American fashion designer, currently living in Miami, Florida. She was a contestant on the third season of the Bravo network reality television series Project Runway, and was one of the final two contestants, finishing second overall in the competition.
Trained as a physical therapist, Herzner eventually decided that she wanted to enter the world of fashion. She cites designers Kenzo and Roberto Cavalli as her inspirations.
Growing up in East Germany, Uli says she dreamed of coming to America long before the fall of the Berlin Wall. Herzner garners her inspiration from the beaches and climate of Miami, as well as from fellow designers Kenzo and Roberto Cavalli. She designed a collection for Olympus Fashion Week, finishing in the runner-up spot. The show's judge commented that every woman wants Uli's clothes. Project Runway provided Herzner with incredible exposure, and she is now the up-and-coming designer synonymous with print dresses and relaxed, flowing silhouttes.
