Ukrainian Internet Exchange
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Ukrainian traffic exchange network, also known as UA-IX has more than 70 participants that represent several regions of Ukraine. Creation of the network made it possible for its participants to considerably reduce expenditures and to broaden the possibilities of small business.[citation needed] The network helps ensure the stability of the Ukrainian internet market because it has two points for the exchange of internet traffic.
Also, with increasing spread of high-speed internet providers in Ukraine, and while foreign traffic is considerably expensive ($0.01 to $0.1 per MB), some of providers don't take money for Ukrainian traffic at all, and others price local much lower than foreign traffic.
In its volume, significance and sphere of network activity, this is a unique enterprise in Ukraine.
