UHF anime

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

UHF anime (UHFアニメ?) refers to the anime produced by a cooperative group of independent UHF television stations generally located in the Kantō, Chūkyō and Kansai areas of Japan. Other common names for UHF anime include dokuritsu U-kyoku (独立U局?), U-kyoku anime (U局アニメ?) and U-kei anime (U系アニメ?). The UHF anime group was originally set up so that smaller independent stations could get first run anime which generally was broadcast only on main network channels (such as TV Tokyo), close affiliates and on broadcast and other satellite stations.
